Drivers admit to potentially fatal distractions

A series of Drive.com.au netpolls has uncovered some dangerous habits on our roads. RICHARD BLACKBURN reports.

Australian drivers have owned up to a range of potentially fatal distractions – including engaging in sexual acts behind the wheel – in a series of net polls conducted by Drive.com.au.

The polls attracted almost 10,000 responses and threw up some disturbing facts about Australian drivers’ lack of attention at the wheel.

More than 40 per cent admitted to engaging in sexual acts behind the wheel, while 53 per cent admitted to sending or reading texts while driving..........More information
